In Manpower’s Millennial Careers study, researchers found that millennials are working harder than any previous generation. To be more specific, millennials work longer hours and plan to retire later than Baby Boomers and Gen-Xers by quite a bit. Apparently, three fourths of all millennials are already working more than 40 hours per week, a standard set by the “hard-working” generations of the past. And that’s not all. According to the study, one fourth of millennials around the world are working more than 50 hours per week. 50 hours per week! I’m sure you are more than capable when it comes to mathematics, but that’s 10 extra hours per week! In what world could these industry workhorses be considered lazy? While you might be thinking that millennials couldn’t be working as hard in other countries as they are here, you still couldn’t be more wrong. In countries around the world, millennials are showing industry leaders that they are willing to put in more effort to prove their worth. Clearly, millennials work.
