To come up with their rankings, G2 Crowd looked at two major factors: market presence and customer satisfaction. Using their own data of product reviews left by users, they were able to pin down the 19 companies that reached their minimum data requirements (only companies whose products had ten or more validated reviews on the G2 Crowd platform were included in its rankings). They then plotted these 19 companies per that market presence and customer satisfaction. Looking at the plotted data above, it’s clear that companies like SurePayroll, Sprout Social, and Steelbrick rank towards the top, considering both their high market presence and high level of customer satisfaction. G2 Crowd, however, turned more specifically to customer satisfaction to list what they consider to be the ten best Chicagoland business software/SaaS startups.
