The Mission
When it comes to the Startup of the Year competition, our mission is to discover and support the most promising and innovative startups in the world. By providing prizes, business resources, and networking opportunities, we’ve made a huge impact on the future of startups far and wide. In doing so, we have had the pleasure of meeting and helping to amplify the stories of some great companies like GrubHub, Groupon, LivingSocial, AddThis, Desk, and Uber.
The Inclusivity
TechCo is dedicated to bringing people from around the world and of all walks of life together through the Startup of the Year competition. Our founders are as diverse as they are innovative, leading to a lively event that will no doubt benefit your company. In fact, last year the competition represented 43 US states and 46 countries!
The Prizes
We have a dense network of sponsors who offer their products and services to ensure the highest successes of our startups. American Airlines business travel points, various startup resources, media coverage, connections with nationally recognized accelerators, awesome gear, and community recognition are among potential prizes.
The Requirements
The Startup of the Year competition is specifically designed to showcase early-stage startups. For that reason, we have a few requirements for startups interested in applying. Please make sure your company meets these requirements prior to filling out your application:
Startups must be fewer than 4 years old at time of applicationStartups must have no more than $4MM USD funding at time of applicationStartups must have a live and viable product
Additionally, Startups must be INNOVATIVE! Make sure to describe and exhibit why your company is disruptive and exciting in your application. We are looking to learn why your company is the right company to solve the issue you are addressing.
