Talklocal takes away the stress and frustration of having to research and contact the right local business. Whether you’re looking for a roofer or an attorney, their online search platform will connect you with up to three local service providers over the phone in about 90 seconds. Since launching in 2012, the company has sent more than one million calls connecting consumers to local businesses. According to talklocal cofounder and president, Manpreet Singh, the idea for the rebranding came about a year ago and was really a response to the confusion they encountered when trying to work with small and medium businesses (SMBs)....

In the report, Shmatikov writes: Security and privacy are the most vulnerable components regarding URL shortening links – particularly with using Microsoft OneDrive (SkyDrive, previously) and Google Maps. This vulnerability comes from tokens, which are embedded into URL links to link sites with information. By using URL link shortening services, you’re actually making the URL more vulnerable to hackers and malicious users – with shorter tokens, it’s much easier to hack and manipulate the codes....

The news comes just weeks after hundreds of the tech giant’s employees signed an open letter in protest against the company’s strident position on staff vaccinations. The vaccination drive is part of Google’s push for a hybrid working arrangement for employees which will require them to be in for at least three days a week after the new year. What did Google’s memo say? Google’s employees have known for some time now that they had to upload their vaccine status to the company’s internal systems by December 3rd....

Slack’s Sign-Up Slip-Up In a post discussing the issue, Slack said that on August 4, a small percentage of Slack users were asked to reset their passwords “in response to a bug that occurred when users created or revoked a shared invitation link for their workspace....
