Based on research from Mason Currey’s Daily Rituals: How Artists Work, as well as some other academic resources, the infographic provides an overview of the daily rituals of 26 of history’s most creative individuals from writers like Gustave Flaubert and Flannery O’Connor to some of the world’s greatest thinkers like Benjamin Franklin and Sigmund Freud. The data presented on the infographic sorts the people in order of time of day when they wake up, with de Balzac waking up daily at around 1 AM. Aside from telling us when and for how long these creatives slept, the infographic on daily routines also shows us when and for how long they spent their times on eating, working, focusing on their creative work, eating or socializing, and exercising. The full infographic itself is actually pretty interactive and allows you to just isolate certain aspects of the creatives’ days. (So, for instance, you can focus specifically on how much time they spent on food and leisure). It can serve as a helpful tool for either comparing your current daily routines with those of famous people, or inspiring you to change your daily routines to follow alongside someone for whom you hold high regard.
