FocusMaine, in partnership with Gulf of Maine Research Institute and the Maine Aquaculture Association, received $219,600 to develop business development tools and attempt to unlock access to traditional financing for Maine aquaculture companies....

These kiosks are likely a glimpse into the future as major food chains have been complaining about increased costs and the threat of a higher minimum wage. Initially the kiosks will not be used in place of employees. As time goes on, though, and more people begin to use them, it seems likely that a reduction in the headcount would occur....

In 2018, that’s a service that Patreon’s users are increasingly interested in. Sleeping tabs were first announced in September 2020, then rolled out in December. The feature does just what it sounds like: Tabs will go to sleep when they haven’t been used recently, saving memory and CPU use until they’re clicked and wake up again. Sleeping Tabs The new update allows pages that are sharing a browsing instance with another page to still go to sleep when needed. According to the Microsoft blog announcement, this will let an average of 8% more tabs go to sleep — with each sleeping tab saving the Microsoft Edge browser 85% of the memory and 99% CPU that a non-sleeping tap would use....
