According to Facebook, a delay of three seconds will make 40 percent of visitors to give up....

It’s September again and that means TechCrunch Disrupt is taking place this week in San Francisco. The TechCrunch Disrupt event evolved from the now dissolved TechCrunch50 conference that was the creation of the now feuding Jason Calacanis and Michael Arrington. I’ve attended several times and found it to be valuable and intense – in the past it was a grueling few days of non-stop watching, talking and reporting on startups and other tech news that launch at the event....

According to a recent Gallup poll on telecommuting in the United States, the percentage of remote work done in this country has increased more than four-fold in the last twenty years – from 9 percent of U.S. workers in 1995 to 37 percent in 2015. And, much like the horde of others working at startups, I myself work remotely – and actually do so 100 percent of the time. Their first site is The Cadmus, which sorts your Twitter stream by relevance. At our Champaign, Illinois event we saw Caterva which might be looking to do something very similar. Appbistro – Offers a rich marketplace for business applications on Facebook, including user reviews and a payments service....

The law, which stated that VPN providers would need to log user data for up to five years, is in staunch opposition to the industry’s primary goal of promoting data privacy and protecting user information. Now, the postponement will, in theory, give providers enough time to comply with the new law, although many are still likely to take their ball and go home. The delay is good news to many, as the new rules proved controversial to say the least....
